A handheld instrument for unstable chords, Wing Pinger 2.0 carries forward the original Wing Pinger's filter-pinging feedback voice, where tone and noise emerge from the same unstable circuit. Built around paired self-oscillating analog filters, cross-feedback, and digital event extraction, it forms a stereo system capable of plucked tones, chordal motion, unstable rhythms, and chaotic textures.
For 2.0, this architecture is reimagined as a handheld instrument with a powerful onboard scripting system. Its Strudel-inspired, instrument-tailored pattern language can compose musical sequences, modulate device parameters, and allow blocks to shape one another over time. Held and played directly, Wing Pinger 2.0 turns a scriptable feedback system into a physical musical object: something that can be programmed, interrupted, steered, and performed in real time.
