Based on Korg's modern classic Minilogue analog polyphonic synthesizer, the Minilogue XD brings a host of expanded options to the table, including the digital Multi-Engine, microtuning, an expanded effects section, and more. The Minilogue XD maintains the warm analog signal path of its predecessor while adding functionality that takes it truly to the next level.
The Minilogue XD features the same analog voice structure as the original Minilogue, but adds a third oscillator per voice: the digital Multi-Engine from the Prologue series. The Multi-Engine ships with a Variable Phase Modulation oscillator, noise generator, and morphing wavetable oscillator, but also offers support for user-created algorithms and other oscillators created by Korg's rich internet community. The digital effect engine offers similarly flexible and pristine sound quality, providing three simultaneous effect types to be used in any combination. Tons of modulation effects (chorus, ensemble, etc.), delays, and reverbs provide a rich layer and depth to internally generated sounds. Now operating in true stereo, the effects create a sense of space simply not possible on the original Minilogue.
An expanded sequencer provides sixteen steps of polyphonic sequencing as well as four tracks of motion sequencing, creating complex modulation sequences unavailable in most other synths in this price range. Combine this with the internal arpeggiator and optional microtuning for cascading swaths of lush tone.
The Minilogue XD offers many other niceties for sound design and performance: unison and chord modes, an assignable joystick, damper input, and even assignable control voltage inputs for integrating with modular gear. The Minilogue XD is a clear improvement on its predecessor, providing a powerful polysynth and an unprecedented price.
